The Raspberry Pi Pico runs on the RP2040, a chip designed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation itself, which means the official docs, the official MicroPython build, and the official examples are genuinely excellent, not an afterthought bolted onto a chip designed for something else. Its Programmable I/O subsystem lets you offload precise, timing-critical tasks that would choke a normal microcontroller, a real technical advantage for projects that care about exact timing.
